Ruto only attends Prayers in Mt.Kenya, no projects: MT. Kenya residents lament.

During the August general election, President Ruto had the backing of Mount Kenya. Even though Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta was the region’s then-leader, he received more than 55% of the vote. However, the region is not pleased with how the President is ignoring them on development-related matters.
Since taking office as Kenya’s fifth president, President Ruto has been able to launch numerous projects across the nation. He has found multibillion-dollar projects in several countries, including Nairobi, Ukambani, Nyanza, and the Coast area.
The grass-roots leaders of the Mount Kenya region are upset because their preferred kingpin, the present Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, doesn’t take development issues seriously and instead engages in verbal diarrhea over rice and meat.
Instead of lobbying for improvements and employment possibilities for the Mount Kenya region, the Deputy President is merely hanging out in offices and the statehouse canteen. However, it has been rumored that the Deputy President’s purpose is to chair a 2027 campaign committee, which is why he isn’t even development-oriented. The way he has distributed money at all the events he has been attending over the past few months can serve as evidence of this.
The region is now requesting that the President keep his commitments or they will have to reconsider in 2027. The claims and cautions issued to the area by then-President Uhuru Kenyatta against Ruto continue to be validated. The ex-president had forewarned the region that the president would destabilize it and halt all progress.
He has continued to be visible in interdenominational prayers and church attendance in Mount Kenya despite the president’s exclusion of the area. Now, the region claims that the president is duping them. Although he launches projects in other areas, he attends church services in Mount Kenya.
