UFAA has recently discovered 137 Kenyans with unclaimed assets in local banks. The unclaimed assets include money from dormant accounts, uncollected dividends, and matured insurance policies.

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) has issued a notice to 137 individuals who are claiming assets left behind in different local banks.

If you have an account that has been dormant for a long time, or if you have not been collecting dividends from your investments, it’s time to check if you are one of the 137 Kenyans.

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) has issued a notice to 137 individuals who are claiming assets left behind in different local banks.

In a notice from John Mwangi, the UFAA CEO and Managing Trustee, all individuals have been given 30 days to claim the assets.

“Notice is issued under regulation 12 of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Regulations, 2016 that the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority has received claims for unclaimed assets from the following persons claiming as administrators of the estates of deceased persons and agents of the original owners.”

“Further take notice that if no objection has been lodged at the offices of the Authority at the address below within thirty (30) days of the date of publication of this notice, payment will be made to the named persons,” reads part of the notice.

Some of the individuals required to claim the assets include the Deputy County Commissioners in Nyeri, Kigumo, Trans Nzoia East, Kabete, Njoro, Kandara, Kasarani, Kandara, Mumias, Naivasha, and Mathioya.

Others include Public Trustees in Nairobi, Nyeri, Machakos, Kisii, Nakuru, and Eldoret. Other claimants are private citizens.

Additionally, Mwangi gave 30 days to seven other claimants to collect other assets from different insurance companies.

“Further notice is given that unless objection to the claims is lodged at the offices of the Authority at the address below within thirty (30) days from the date hereof, payment will be made to the aforementioned persons on the evidence of the sworn affidavit for lost original policy document and any liability on the lost policy document will immediately cease, ” he added

The CEO revealed that all said individuals should visit the UFAA offices at the Pacis Centre along Waiyaki Way, in Nairobi County.

UFAA is mandated to hold assets left behind in banks, or insurance companies but are unclaimed. Kenyans may dial *361# to confirm if they have any unclaimed assets being held by the authority.
