Nigeria On Fire As Bomb Blast Killed Over 19 People Ahead Of Nationwide Protest

Tragedy struck Kawuri village in Borno State when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) suspected to be planted by Boko Haram insurgents detonated at a tea joint, claiming the lives of at least 19 people.
The incident occurred around 8: 05 pm, when villagers had gathered at the local tea joint for a night chat.
The attack comes just three days after insurgents stormed a police station in Jakana town, also in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a policeman and a lady, and setting two patrol vans ablaze.
Kawuri community, located approximately 50 kilometers from Maiduguri, the state capital, has been left reeling from the devastating attack.
A source from the area confirmed that the bomb was suspected to have been planted, rather than a suicide attack. ” Nobody can say exactly how it happened, but we suspected that the bomb was planted, not a suicide attack, ” the source stated.
