Cole Palmer’s goal against Wolves wins the award for the best goal of August

Palmer wins the prize for the second time. He also won it in April 2024 when he scored from the corner of the pitch against Everton.

Cole Palmer’s finest goal for Chelsea against Wolverhampton Wanderers has been named the best Goal of the Month for August 2024 by Guinness in the Premier League.

Palmer scored a first-time goal from outside the penalty area, beating Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa outside his net.

It made sense that Chelsea scored inside 10 seconds after goalkeeper Robert Sanchez’s long pass was met by Nicolas Jackson, providing Palmer to score.

This is Palmer’s second time winning the prize. He also won it in April 2024 when he scored from the corner of the pitch against Everton.

Palmer’s score topped the shortlist of the eight greatest in August when popular votes combined with those of an expert section.
